Snow by the Lake
I spotted this boat last week with the lights on in and took a few photos on a very dark night. Tonight with the snow coming down the sky was bright enough to silhouette the trees and show the details of the ground.
The boat here has a neat look with the lights on it and should be equally interesting to shoot once the lights are taken down later this winter.
The house there is right on the shores of Klamath Lake in Southern Oregon. This is the point where the lake feeds into Link River and flows south to California and then the Pacific Ocean.
The hardest part of this shot is the movement of the boat. It is hard to get a time of winter where the lake is still enough to keep the boat from moving over a 10 to 20 second exposure. It did move a little bit in the rigging but the boat it's self seemed to not travel around and looks sharp.
